Baketopia Unicorn Cake!

Yes, it is another cake post!

I am really gutted I didn't find out about the Baketopia event in London until after it had been held! It was part of National Baking Week and I am hoping a similar event is held next year (I really want to go if there is!). By far my favourite cake of the event is this unicorn cake.

How amazing is this cake? I would love to have the skills and time to create such a wonderful cake.

In case you didn't believe it was a cake, here is a photo of the insides. It seems quite appropriate that the unicorn's insides are made up of rainbow coloured sponge.

I Know Who I Want To Get My Next Birthday Cake From...

So... I was scrolling Facebook when I found a friend had posted this on her wall...

Yes, that IS a cake. How amazing! It is by Pimp my Cake with Mama Rhu. I believe it was made as part of a competition and the detail is amazing. I couldn't help but get drawn in when I saw the cake had a bit of a lolita influence to it. I don't think the creator intended the cake to actually be a lolita but it has got a lolita look to it. It shows that it is possible to make a lolita out of cake!

Now it is probably way out of my price range to commission a cake like this... but I want her to make me in to a cake too! A girl can dream...

Meta cake!

After randomly browsing Meta's Japanese site, I found this cute cake collaboration with Patisserie Swallowtail.

It looks so yummy and I really want one! Although it is only available in Japan, I still enjoy looking at yummy cakes like these. I have often wanted to re-create brand logos to go on cakes for a lolita meet and I still remember when somebody recreated a Moitie print for a birthday cake (it was epic). I don't know when I will next be hosting a meet, but when I do, I am tempted to do logo cakes. Let's see how they turn out!
